To further strengthen our engineering capabilities and project performance, we are looking for a Manager Engineering who will drive engineering excellence, lead high-impact projects and continuously improve the way we work.
While Arnhem is the home base, this hybrid role offers the opportunity to work across several of our impressive production sites, including Emmen and Delfzijl.
Your role
As Manager Engineering – Performance Excellence, you are part of the Central Engineering organization and report directly to the Director Performance Excellence. You lead a team of approximately 10 direct and 10 indirect Project Engineers and are responsible for ensuring that engineering projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
You combine strong leadership with technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset. By developing common engineering standards and improving ways of working, you enable lean and efficient project execution across multiple sites. In this role, you work closely with Project Managers, Operations and international stakeholders, including Engineering teams in Japan (Teijin Ltd.).

The Performance Excellence department is the analytical heart of our strategic project decisions. This is where technology, data and process optimization come together. Your responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Central Engineering team.
- Manage the execution of engineering projects and ensure delivery according to quality, safety, time and budget requirements.
- Drive performance excellence by continuously improving engineering processes, standards and working methods.
- Act as Global Business Process Owner (GBPO) for Engineering.
- Prioritize projects and manage engineering resources within the project portfolio.
- Ensure projects are delivered within approved CAPEX budgets.
- Embed QHSE principles in all engineering activities and ensure compliance with internal and external standards (ISO, CE, safety regulations).
- Represent engineering knowledge and expertise within Teijin Aramid and towards key stakeholders.
- Strengthen international collaboration and alignment, including close cooperation with Engineering teams in Japan.
Your profile
You are an experienced engineering leader who thrives in a complex, industrial environment and enjoys combining people leadership with project and performance management.
You bring:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proven experience in project management and stakeholder management.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision-making skills.
- A structured, results-driven and continuous improvement mindset.
- A strong focus on safety, quality and compliance.

Attractive salary – This position falls within our collective labor agreement scale 13 (€6313 and €10.472 gross per month), depending on experience and education
