Application and Solution Manager Ballistics
Our Team
Our team is part of the Teijin Aramid Research & Innovation Centre (RIC). Aramids are used in a broad range of applications from tire reinforcement, mooring of floating wind turbines at sea, ballistic solutions, to heat protective apparel for firefighters. By combining knowledge about our own products, our customers' production processes, and end-user applications, we work on improvements and innovations every day. RIC employs over 100 passionate scientists, who work closely with our customers, our colleagues from Marketing & Sales and our production sites.
Your role
In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced colleagues to develop state of the art ballistic protective materials and solutions that safeguard Law Enforcement Officers and Military Personnel. You’ll play a key role in supporting research and development activities and ensuring successful product launches. While your primary base will be Arnhem, you’ll also travel internationally to connect with partners and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empowering our Sales Offices worldwide to win tenders and projects through expert training and tailored support. Develop innovative ballistic solutions that meet current and emerging protection requirements.
- Partnering with customers and suppliers globally to ensure excellence in application and manufacturing of semi-finished and finished ballistic products.
- Accelerating innovation by supporting R&D activities, driving successful product launches and shaping value propositions for our products.
- Leading market intelligence efforts: monitor, analyze, and anticipate trends to identify new development opportunities.
- Working with our patent department to screen and analyze external patents and create own patent applications.
Your profile
You’re passionate about innovation and thrive in a technical environment. To excel in this role:
- You bring a strong technical foundation, with a degree from a University of Applied Sciences in textile or mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics, material science, or comparable expertise gained through experience.
- You’re well-versed in test methods like NIJ, Stanag, VPAM, and understand the materials and hybrid solutions that make protection possible.
- Several years working experience with ballistic protection systems, with a clear view of the entire value chain from concept to delivery.
- You can simplify complex topics and share knowledge confidently with authorities, customers, and colleagues worldwide.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); German and Dutch is a bonus.
- You’re innovative, results-driven, and always looking for smarter solutions.
- Independent yet a true team player, eager to grow as a specialist.
- Ready to travel internationally about 30% of the time.

- Attractive salary – This position falls within our collective labor agreement scale 11 (€5.273 to € 8.152 gross per month), with your salary based on your experience and education.
